PROJECT: Zarephath Ministries is a community outreach program which provides food for low-income families and the homeless in the Gresham, Oregon area. They serve 150 meals every single day! Zarephath hired us to make a short video to promote their kitchen and pantry. We gladly took this project on to help spread the word of the free services they offer to communities of all ages and backgrounds.
APPROACH:The client had a script in mind when approaching us for this project so we knew we would be cutting back and forth between interviews and a voiceover. We really wanted to provide a 360 degree perspective on the services they offer, so we featured voices representing the variety of people who are part of the Zarephath family, including a gentleman who comes to eat at the kitchen, a volunteer who has used these services in the past herself, and a restaurant owner who helps supply the food. The video has two parts to it because the kitchen and pantry are two separate entities. We used a music queue to help with this transition. Because the kitchen and pantry are both so full of action, we filmed the majority of this video on a gimbal so we could be mobile.RESULTS: Our client was thrilled with the reception of our video which was used on their website and at their fundraiser. To come and eat go to the corner of East Powell Boulevard and Eastman Parkway, behind Trinity Lutheran Church Kitchen: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call the kitchen: 603-667-2692. To come and shop, go downstairs to the pantry: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Call the pantry: 503-667-7932. For more information go to: feedeastcounty.org
