PROJECT:During the AIDS epidemic, LGBTQIA2S+ folx were completely underserved, so they took matters into their own hands and founded the Quest Center for Integrative Health. Quest came to us to produce a story that would double as a promotional video for their website and as a fundraising video for their annual gala. The video features the intimate stories of four Quest clients to show how it has evolved to serve many different communities while retaining the soul and warmth of a small grassroots clinic. APPROACH:Since all of our subjects had experienced significant trauma related to mental health and/or substance abuse, we held a group rapport meeting in which we learned about each person’s story before production began. This allowed us to earn the trust of each subject and enabled us to get deep, emotional interviews. We directed multiple production teams to cover a variety of Quest events, in order to showcase all of the offerings that Quest provides for their clients. The crew especially enjoyed celebrating and filming Quest’s presence in the 2019 Portland Pride parade! RESULTS: Our mini-documentary won a National Hometown Media award and helped raise money for the client’s foundation. Our client exceeded their fundraising goal by $50,000 & our video garnered over 3,500 social media views. “True professionalism all around. It was a great experience working with MetroEast!” - Quest Center. For more information go to quest-center.org
