Think September means the end of free summer fun?
There is still plenty to do in East Multnomah county after school starts. Take a look at these two upcoming events, both sponsored in part by MetroEast.
Festival of Nations
Presented by MetroEast partner, the Division Midway Alliance, and Get Space, this year’s event focuses on healthy foods from around the world. Add good eats to live music, performances, info booths and lots more and you’ve got yourself some terrific family fun. This year’s event takes place at 14601 SE Division in Portland from 11am to 5pm on Sunday, Sept. 17. Look for the MetroEast booth!
35th annual Teddy Bear Parade
Presented once again by our partners, Soroptimists International of Gresham (celebrating their 40th year!), the Gresham Teddy Bear Parade continues to be an annual crowd-pleaser for kids and adults alike. The parade helps fund the Soroptimists’ work with women and girls through their programs and scholarships. Grab your teddy bear and come join us at 10 am on Saturday, Sept. 30th in downtown Gresham. And if you can’t make it, MetroEast will be on hand to videotape it for your viewing pleasure on our local cable TV channels.
For more information watch the Community Hotline interview about this event that premiers on MetroEast channel 21 on Sept. 13 at 7pm or go to the Soroptimist International of Gresham’s web site at www.sigresham.org.
