Podcast_CampFREE PODCASTING CAMP | AGES 12-21
JULY 9-13 | 9AM-4PM

Through producing their own “just for fun” podcast on any subject, students will prep for a more advanced podcast in which they will interview ethnically and gender diverse professionals in fields ranging from health to media to law enforcement. The goal is not just to build technical skills, but to meet successful professionals and learn about how they earned their career. Final podcasts will be sent to XRAY KBOO, iTunes and Stitcher.

Music_CampFREE MUSIC CAMP | AGES -12-21
JULY 16-AUGUST 4 | 9AM-4PM

Local youth work iwthmusic professionals to write and compose a piece about local topics in Rockwood. Afterward, youth train with film professionals to create a music video using their new track. Participants will dig deep into the tools of the trade using our professional sound recording booth, cameras and software. They’ll leave the camp with a calling card video to be proud of.

Video_Game_CampFREE VIDEO GAME CAMP | AGES 9-14
JULY 18-22 | 9AM-4PM

Up Up, Down down, left right, left right, B, A, Select, Start. Sound like some sort of code? It is! It’s the Kanomi code for unlimited lives! Video Game camp unlocks the magic of coding for Rockwood youth via their passion for video games. Participants will learn valuable computer programming skills that will catapult them into 21st Century Jobs! Did we mention they get to play video games?

DAY_CAMPFREE INTEGRATED MEDIA CAMP | AGES 9-14
AUGUST 6-11 | 9AM-4PM

Pairing with Make Think Code, a technology lab at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, MetroEast will co-present a youth media, code, and engineering workshop! Students will learn to integrate media, storytelling, video games, and the magical capacitive technology of Makey Makey Kits. Participants will explore the powerful roles that creativity and technology play in imaginative and impactful storytelling.
