Facility Tech

MetroEast Community Media is seeking a part-time employee or independent contractor to keep the facility at our East County media center running smoothly. If you are an all around handy-person, have the ability to assess & identify issues needing correction, and are able to communicate effectively, this may be the job for you.

Hours / Classification

Part-Time / Non-Exempt: 20 hours per month

(independent contractor – requires license and bond)

The Facility Technician performs routine maintenance tasks, manages vendors and other duties as requested. This position is estimated to be approximately 20 hours per month, with flexible schedule and hours. Work to be performed primarily at MetroEast’s facility just outside downtown Gresham. We are located one block from the Gresham Transit Center.


Reports To

Director of Finance


Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance around MetroEast facilities

  • Performs painting and other cosmetic repairs and updates

  • Identifies issues or needed repairs and escalates to management

  • Communicates and coordinates with facility vendors (electricians, plumbers, HVAC, etc.)

  • Advises on building improvement and construction project

  • Performs other duties as requested


Working Conditions/Physical Demands

Work is physical and is performed both indoors and outdoors. The employee must be able to move about the facility to communicate with staff members. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Position is exposed to electricity/equipment. This position may be exposed to offensive acts and language in the process of video production. Requires flexible work schedule and may be required to work evenings and weekends. An ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety and OSHA standards.
