Youth Media

OLLIE

ollie logo From 2004 to 2009, MetroEast Community Media and Portland Community Media worked as partners to provide the Oregon Learning Lab for Information Education, or OLLIE, to schools in Multnomah County. OLLIE brought teams of professional trainers and equipment to in-school and after-school programs. During the past five years, students have worked to create more than 300 short videos.

Students in OLLIE learned all aspects of video production and gained valuable technology and media literacy skills while working with high-end cameras, microphones, computers and digital editing systems. OLLIE youth finished their programs with a deeper understanding of their class subjects and heightened technological confidence. They produced quality work to share with their communities and the world. For more information and to watch their archived videos, see ollietv.org.
